Permanent Strength of Interstitial-free Steel Processed by Severe Plastic Deformation and Subsequent Annealing

چکیده
The permanent strengths of interstitial-free (IF) steels with different grain sizes and dislocation densities processed by severe plastic deformation (SPD) subsequent annealing are systematically investigated. Permanent strength, which is athermal time-independent, corresponds to the fundamental capability bear stresses caused external forces. Sufficiently long-time (24 h) stress relaxation tests were carried out experimental stress–relaxation time relationships extrapolated estimate strength that remained after an infinite passed. flow observed in standard uniaxial tension increased repeated SPD processes, fraction was mostly above 65%. also repetition low-temperature further augmented strength. During dislocation-related strengthening dominant, while grain-size-related minor, i.e., Hall–Petch relation does not hold. On other hand, annealing, became quickly replacing strengthening. In a coarse-grain region, consistent classical relation. It confirmed original holds only region it indicates “softening coarsening due annealing”, “strengthening refinement SPD”.

Zinc based bioalloys processed by severe plastic deformation – A review
Zinc based alloys have recently attracted great attention as promising biodegradable metals. Zinc exhibits moderate degradation rates in biological fluid and the zinc releases during the degradation process is considered safe to human systems. However, these materials exhibit critical limitations in terms of mechanical properties for medical applications. Adding alloying elements as well as gra...
متن کاملParadox of strength and ductility in metals processed by severe plastic deformation
It is well known that plastic deformation induced by conventional forming methods such as rolling, drawing or extrusion can significantly increase the strength of metals However, this increase is usually accompanied by a loss of ductility. For example, Fig. 1 shows that with increasing plastic deformation, the yield strength of Cu and Al monotonically increases while their elongation to failure...
متن کاملWorkability study in near-pritectic Sn-5%Sb lead-free solder alloy processed by severe plastic deformation
Prediction of the deformation characteristics is an important step to understand the workability of alloys during imposing large strains. In this research, severe plastic deformation of Sn-5Sb solder alloy was carried out under different t deformation conditions, including the temperature range of 298, 330, 36, 400 K and die designs. The current study applies an experimentally validated finite ...
متن کاملNumerical Analysis of Severe Plastic Deformation by High Pressure Torsion
High-pressure torsion (HPT) is a metal processing method in which the sample is subjected to a very high plastic shear deformation. This process can produce exceptional levels of grain refinement, and provides a corresponding improvement in mechanical properties. To investigate the stress and strain distribution due to HPT process finite element simulation were conducted to investigate effectiv...
